About Hagbourne Preschool

We are a friendly village pre-school with charity status, based in East Hagbourne, near Didcot in Oxfordshire. Operating from the Village Hall, just across the road from Hagbourne School, we have been welcoming children since 1969. We are run by a team of passionate, highly experienced and qualified professional staff who operate alongside a volunteer management committee, made up mostly of our childrens parents.

Our facilities include two rooms fully equipped with everything your child needs to learn, play and develop, a purpose built playground and our own allotment.

At Hagbourne Pre-School, we have a well-planned and stimulating curriculum, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance, which supports the all-round development of your child.

We organise our sessions to make sure that we have a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities, taking into account your child’s individual interests and needs.  We have a large selection of toys and activities for your child to choose from, as well as group activities from storytime, songs, and discussions. In our pre-school sessions, your child has access to both indoor and outdoor spaces.  Our secure indoor space is well organised, with lots of toys, activities, and equipment, while our outside space provides a safe, enclosed play area, giving the children the chance to explore and be physically active. We have a purpose-built climbing frame, role play wigwams, bikes, trikes and scooters, ball games and sand and water tables for your child to enjoy!

For more information about joining us about our setting, please see our new starter pack.

Please note if you are a family with us and need help with a referral to a food bank, this something we can support you you with, please just speak to a member of staff.

KEY PERSON

Your child will be allocated a member of staff as a key person throughout their time at pre-school

The key person will have special responsibility for your child and will be in charge of their observation file.

The key person is available to discuss any issues or answer any questions you may have and they will be the person who discusses your child’s progress at our regular parent liaison meetings.

All key person groups are colour-coded that colour will be found on your child’s name card and book bag.
