Mini Explorers Club

Our Mini Explorers Club is a very popular, supervised outing to our local woods where the children enjoy a fantastic hands-on learning experience in a woodland setting. Children must be over 3 years old and attend pre-school on a Friday in order to join.

We do ask for a small donation of £25 per child to cover costs across the year.

We are very lucky to have the Hagbourne Millennium Woods within easy walking distance of the pre-school; a near 9-acre area of woodland featuring a stone circle that we use as our base for exploring.

A thorough site assessment is carried out at the beginning of each session to ensure the safety of the children.

The woods offer the children a rich play environment where they are encouraged to engage in various activities to help develop their understanding of the natural world, including:

  • Climbing trees
  • Den building
  • Digging for worms
  • Bug hunting
  • Mud pie making

We head out whatever the weather, so please provide your child with appropriate clothing. Waterproof trousers and high visibility vests are provided by pre-school but children will need to bring wellies and suitable warm clothing for colder days.

We welcome both regular and one-off helpers, no special qualifications are required. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out.
